Poem: Hello, Fall

Lovely Fall night so cool and crisp,
I warmly cherish your chilly embrace.
The northern wind reddens my cheeks,
As it blows across with wintry claws.
I smell the first wood fires now burning,
Marking the slow, halting march to Winter.
Inhaling that rich, missed, smoky aroma,
I breathlessly desire the coming Days of Cold.
Cast aside the oven heat of Summer past
And bring to us the nips and bites of Frost.
Beckon forth awaited pearly clouds snow-laden,
And delight us once more with lawns of alabaster.
